Throughout this course, I gained an understanding of basic principles of communication and technology. By researching historical communication and technology trends, I've gained insights into how the computer science field has evolved over time.
I gained an insight to real-world applications by researching the works of industry leaders, as well as analyzing oral, written, and visual sources. This helped to sharpen my ability to extract meaning from technical sources.
Developing an Individual Learning Plan was also part of this course, and it was a resource that I continuously referred back to during my time at CSUMB.
Another aspect of the course that I personally found an interest in was project management concepts. This is a topic that is not specific to computer science, but could help me in any professional setting.
Lastly, this course also covered the capstone process. It was helpful to cover this subject early in the program, to keep the capstone in mind during our coursework in the program.
