Designed as a foundation for students who wish to pursue more advanced network studies including certificate programs. Includes hands-on networking labs that incorporate Cisco CCNA lab components.
This course extensively covered web protocols and Internet security. I learned the essential concepts and technologies that the intertnet runs on. One topic i found particularly interesting was cryptography, and how the interternt is heavily dependent on it. Understanding the role of network security protocols like SSL/TLS, IPSEC, Kerberos, PGP, S/MIME, and wireless security has been invaluable. Another interesting topic was ethical hacking, revealing vulnerabilities and prompting a proactive stance against cyber threats. Learning about protective policies and procedures can help make any network well-equipped to defend against potential breaches and contributes to a more secure digital footprint.
